My research interests cover statistical theory and biometric applications. On the theoretical side my research topics are parametric likelihood inference, principles of statistical inference, higher-order asymptotics, and saddlepoint methods. Application areas that I have been involved in are plant competition experiments, food science applications, automatic alignment of electropherograms, and a selection of genetical statistics and bioinformatic projects. Generally, I concentrate on the use of classical model based statistical (frequentist) methods for planning and analysis of experiments in the various fields of our faculty.
