Object oriented modelling and software development with agricultural applications

Tune Landboskole, Greve, Denmark, August 13-24, 2006

Social evening, Tuesday, August 15th

For a moment we forget about object oriented modelling and turn our attention towards one of the most famous buildings in Denmark: The Cathedral of Roskilde. It is inscribed on the World Heritage List of outstanding cultural and national heritage.

Since the early 15th century the cathedral has been the favorite burial place of the royal family. Since the reformation all Danish kings have been interred here. During the Middle Ages the cathedral was also used as a royal burial place as King Harold Bluetooth (987), Sweyn Estridsen (1074) and Queen Margrete I (1412) are buried here. In total, 39 Danish kings and queens have been laid to rest here - many in magnificent sarcophagi.

For further information about the cathedral, reference is made to the homepage of the cathedral at http://www.roskildedomkirke.dk/uk/ or a tourist brochure.

We are picked up by a bus from the course centre at 19:00. The guided tour to the cathedral starts at 19:30 and lasts for one hour. After the visit we will have coffee at a nearby restaurant in Roskilde. At 22:00 we go back to the course centre by bus.
