EFITA 2003 Conference - First announcement - Call for papers

Debrecen-Budapest, Hungary - 5-9 July 2003

Invitation
We are pleased to invite you to the 4th EFITA Conference, which will take place between 5-9 July 2003 at Debrecen and Budapest, Hungary.

Structure of the conference
July 5: EFITA Workshops (Proposals can be sent by E-mail: efita2003@date.hu) Developing the activities of EFITA July 7-9: The conference will include plenary sessions, parallel working group sessions, poster sessions and exhibition.

The Conference will feature a unique combination of 2 elements:

1. Mainstream Conference
It gives room for a broad spectrum of themes related to the design development and use of IT systems in and for the agri-food sector. It will include plenary sessions, parallel working group sessions, poster sessions, and computer demonstrations. A plenary session will focus on the continuing challenge on how sector activities in information and communication systems can contribute to efforts to reach and secure for the agri-food sector.

2. Conference Symposia
The conference symposia are small conferences in their own right but within the EFITA conference. They address specific interest groups and focus on applications of information and communication systems in specific areas. Conference symposia will be organised according to up-to-date matters of interest. Propositions are welcome. Each symposium should be opened by a keynote address followed by its own line of contributed papers.

Registration
Early registrations sent electronically through the conference web site or by e-mail to conference organising committee are welcome (http://www.date.hu/efita2003/). Deadline of early registration: 30 April 2003.
The conference fee includes workshop costs, all conference materials, welcome reception, lunches, dinners, coffee, tee and scheduled excursions during the conference.

EFITA Membership

Authors of papers must be members of EFITA or its national member associations. Non-member authors receive member status for the conference period through their registration (380 EURO).

Call for contributions and abstracts for the Conference
Papers, posters are requested for all the listed subject areas and related fields. Participants, who wish to make refereed and possibly oral presentations are requested to send an abstract of between 300 and 600 words. The form on the Conference Web site (http://www.date.hu/efita2003/) should be filled. If you have any problems please send your mail to the secretariat (efita2003@date.hu).
